Melcher Law P.C. is a small woman owned law firm. We specialize in family law. We are a friendly workplace that values every employee. Our reputation is based on quality work and compassion for those we serve. We are in search of a very experienced legal assistant/paralegal to join our family law team. You will have at least three years of experience in family law. You will be working under two of our family law attorneys, assisting with a heavy case load in every way. You will be one of three in house paralegals. You will have the opportunity to interact with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel. We are in Rockland, just off rt 3.
Skills:
· Excellent legal writing and communication skills.
· High professional and ethical standards.
· Must be “digitally native” and “tech friendly.”
· Excellent skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
· Knowledge of practice management software products
· Willingness to learn.
· Demonstrated ability to work well independently while maintaining productivity.
· Ability to manage, prioritize, and complete simultaneous assignments.
· Access to a reliable car
Duties:
· You will be responsible for accurately and timely submitting all time entries for all billable hours for several Attorneys and yourself.
· Managing law firm calendar and deadlines.
· Answering the phone and resolving calls when possible.
· Drafting legal documents.
· Tracking discovery
· Managing file system for large client database.
Compensation:
Initial salary commensurate with experience.

Semi annual reviews with salary assessment
