Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a contract paraprofessional and behavior specialist in a school setting near Bristol, VT. This role offers the opportunity to provide focused 1:1 assistance to pediatric learners, helping them reach their potential while working in an inclusive educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Certification required
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a school setting preferred
- Skills or experience as a paraprofessional, behavior specialist, or experience with pediatric students is beneficial
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and school staff
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Enthusiasm for supporting diverse learners and promoting positive behavior
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct support to students as a 1:1 aide, following their individualized learning and behavioral plans
- Assist with classroom activities, reinforcing academic material and behavioral expectations under teacher guidance
- Implement strategies outlined by educators and specialists for behavioral support
- Document student progress and note observations for educational teams
- Facilitate student participation and engagement in classroom and school activities
- Provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment
