GISB seeks applicants for an Elementary School English teacher beginning in August 2025. The English teacher will instruct students in the fundamentals of the English language, including reading, comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening skills across a range of language and proficiency levels.


This is a part-time, benefits eligible position: 20 of 28 student-facing hours per week plus planning time (29 hours total per week or 71% FTE). Salary varies depending on education and experience.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Instruct students in Kindergarten (Vorschule) and Grade 2
  • Provide ELA support for Grades 1 and 3
  • Plan and execute daily instructional strategies and lessons targeted for individual learners
  • Create and maintain a safe and collaborative learning environment for students
  • Maintain accurate and transparent records of student’s work and provide feedback to parents/caregivers
  • Attend bi-weekly assemblies, monthly staff meetings and other meetings, as needed
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned, as needed.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of three years experience teaching Elementary School English
  • Training/experience with Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy program
  • Experience with Wilson and Letterland highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, native fluency preferred
  • Experience working with ELL students and students with reading disabilities preferred
  • German language skills are helpful though not required
