Job Title: Warehouse Worker (Floater Pool)

Job Description

Join a new floater pool initiative that supports multiple departments across a warehouse and manufacturing environment. You receive cross-training in a variety of warehouse and production tasks, including packing, sorting, racking and stacking, and other functions as the role continues to evolve. You move between departments as needed to cover absences and support teams during periods of high demand, while building a broad set of skills across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a floater pool that supports multiple departments
  • Perform a wide range of warehouse tasks, including packing, sorting, racking, stacking, and general material handling.
  • Assist with inventory-related activities such as warehouse inventory checks, picking, and labeling items accurately.
  • Support production and logistics operations by loading materials, assembling products, and preparing items for packaging and shipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas by performing housekeeping duties, including sweeping and general cleaning.
  • Move between multiple departments, such as warehouse, heat treat, packing, and machine operating areas, to cover staffing gaps and respond to changing workload demands.
  • Interact professionally with a wide variety of colleagues as you rotate through different departments and teams.
  • Retain and apply 4–5 different skill sets across the business to ensure flexible coverage for various roles and tasks.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Adapt to evolving job duties as the position and associated responsibilities continue to be developed and refined.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of experience in picking, packing, or sorting; or
  • At least 6 months of warehousing experience; or
  • At least 6 months of assembly experience.
  • Ability to perform general labor and material handling tasks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to learn, retain, and apply 4–5 different skill sets across multiple departments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide variety of people while moving between departments.
  • Commitment to following safety practices and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with packaging, labeling, and warehouse inventory processes.
  • Experience with picking and loading materials or products.
  • Background in housekeeping or facility cleaning within an industrial or warehouse setting.
  • Comfort working in different functional areas such as packing, assembly, and general warehouse operations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks, priorities, and departmental needs.

Work Environment

You work in a dynamic industrial setting that includes warehouse, heat treat, packing, and machine operating areas. Your assignments vary based on where staffing support is needed most, so you may move between departments regularly. The environment involves typical warehouse and manufacturing conditions, including exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures, especially in heat treat and warehouse areas. You perform tasks such as material handling, packing, sweeping, cleaning, and assembly using standard warehouse tools and equipment. Shifts are scheduled within two possible shift windows, and you receive confirmation of your assigned shift two weeks in advance. A practical, safety-focused dress code is expected, including appropriate workwear and footwear suitable for an industrial warehouse setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr.
