Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: South Dennis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule:
Monday – Friday
2 weekends or 4 weekend days required within the 13-week contract
Occasional holiday coverage required
Compensation:
- Traveler Rate: $60–$64/hour ($2,250 – $2,400/week) – based on experience
- Local Rate: $55–$58/hour ($2,062 – $2,175/week) – based on experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join a collaborative rehabilitation team in a clinical healthcare setting. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat adult and pediatric patients, develop individualized care plans, and provide high-quality therapeutic interventions to improve patient independence and functional outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable functional goals
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assess and improve patient performance
- Administer occupational therapy treatments and modify care plans based on patient progress
- Fabricate adaptive equipment and splints as needed
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and continued care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments and progress
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding patient care and discharge planning
- Supervise and provide guidance to Occupational Therapy Assistants, aides, and students
- Maintain therapy equipment and manage inventory of supplies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff training, and continuing education activities
- Support departmental policies related to safety, infection control, and patient care standards
- Maintain daily patient activity records and related documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution required
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Massachusetts required
- Current BLS Certification (AHA) required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with adult and pediatric patient populations
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work weekends and occasional holidays as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialist Certification for Clinical Specialist-level candidates
- Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience preferred
