Job Description Step into a day on our finishing floor

Sunlight hits the benches at our client’s well-established precision sheet metal shop in the Lawrence area. You clock in, review the day’s blueprints, and plan your sequence: edge breaks, surface prep, and final finish. With a pneumatic grinder in hand, you bring fine detail to complex parts—verifying specs, recording findings, and keeping your station spotless. When a teammate needs a hand, you jump in. That’s how great parts—and great teams—are made.

What you’ll do

• Grind and finish precision sheet metal components to spec
• Interpret and follow blueprints to achieve the required finish and detail
• Operate hand-held pneumatic grinders of various sizes for flat, edge, corner, and contour work
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Document and report any nonconforming or defective product
• Assist with additional production tasks as needed

What you bring

• At least 3 years of grinding/finishing experience in a fabrication environment
• Mechanical aptitude with solid math skills
• Hands-on experience with power tools (or relevant vocational training)
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Willingness to cross-train and support production priorities
• Team-first mindset and a positive attitude

You should be proficient in

• Deburring Experience
• High School / GED
• Blueprint Reading
