Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An exciting contract opportunity awaits for an experienced educator ready to make an impact in an alternative high school environment for the 2026-2027 school year. This specialized position centers on supporting students with moderate behavioral challenges, most of whom have been referred from local districts and thrive in a smaller, highly structured setting. Interested candidates may also opt to begin early with the Extended School Year (ESY) program in July.

As part of a collaborative two-teacher classroom, you’ll focus on delivering Math and Science instruction while cultivating strategies that help students reach their full potential. Both General Education and Special Education certifications are welcomed, though experience supporting students with special needs is strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or related field
  • Valid Massachusetts teaching certification (General Education or Special Education)
  • Prior experience working with students with moderate behavioral needs preferred
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with another educator in the classroom
  • Strong instructional skills in Math and Science
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and structured learning environment
  • Flexibility to begin with ESY programming in July (optional)

Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach and develop engaging Math and Science lessons for high school students
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to support all learners
  • Plan and adapt curriculum for diverse learning needs and IEPs
  • Foster emotional growth, resilience, and academic achievement
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and support staff
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development

Competitive pay ranges from $40 to $45 per hour. Additional perks include weekly pay, a generous benefits package with medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a matching 401k, and a flexible spending account.

Bring your passion for teaching and commitment to student success to a team dedicated to making a difference. Apply today to take the next step in your educational career!
