Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This contract position offers an opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher in a high school setting in Lowell, MA, with a commitment from start date ASAP through June 12, 2026. This role involves supporting students with special needs by providing individualized instruction and collaborating with educational teams to enhance learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach students specific skills and strategies to facilitate curriculum access.
- Conduct IEP meetings and complete related documentation promptly.
- Monitor student progress and update IEPs as necessary.
- Co-teach in general education classrooms or provide substantially separate instruction.
- Prepare students for post-high school transitions.
- Communicate effectively with school personnel and parents.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Certification.
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred.
- Strong organizational skills for managing caseload and paperwork.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
