Desired Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, classroom assistant, or similar support role in school settings
- Ability to implement teacher-directed activities and provide individualized support to students
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive, nurturing attitude toward student development
- High school diploma or GED required; additional college coursework or relevant certifications preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in providing academic and behavioral support to students, both individually and in small groups
- Help maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
- Foster engagement by adapting materials and reinforcing instructional content
- Support students with special needs by implementing accommodations and reinforcing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and document student progress and behavior, reporting observations to the teaching team
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods
