Job DescriptionPayroll & Benefits Specialist

Location: Brattleboro, VT

We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join a growing manufacturing organization. This position will be responsible for payroll processing, benefits administration, employee support, and ensuring compliance with applicable payroll regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll accurately and timely for employees across multiple states
  • Review payroll data, deductions, taxes, and benefit elections for accuracy
  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and ongoing administration
  • Reconcile benefit deductions and support audit activities
  • Maintain employee records within payroll and HRIS systems
  • Prepare reports and support compliance requirements
  • Assist with process improvements and payroll-related projects

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll, including MA, CT, VT, and NY
  • Paylocity experience required
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance
  • Experience with payroll audits, deductions, taxes, and garnishments
  • Benefits administration experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brattleboro, VT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
