For the 2026-2027 school year, we’re looking for Part-Time Afterschool Enrichment Teachers to lead hands-on, project-based classes for small groups of students (capped at around 12) in one or more of the following areas:

  • STEM and Maker (examples electronics, engineering and coding)
  • Visual and Performing Arts
  • Outdoor Education
  • Sewing and Textile Crafts
  • Woodworking and Design
  • Salary Range: $20 - $40 per hour

    Position Type: School year, part-time

    Class Days and Time: Classes meet once per week from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on one or more weekdays, and run in approximately 12-week trimesters (Fall, Winter, and Spring)

    Additional Hours: Opportunities to teach during vacation and summer camps

    Start Date: As soon as you are available

    Key Responsibilities for Curriculum Development & Instruction

  • Design and deliver projectbased enrichment curriculum tailored to student cohorts across three age bands: lower elementary, intermediate/upper elementary, and middle/upper school.
  • Tailor instructional approaches to diverse learning styles and interests, while prioritizing safety, selfmanagement, and stewardship of shared workspaces including classrooms and our sunlit, windowlined Innovation Lab.
  • Champion student growth over perfection and bring genuine personal alignment with Acera's mission and core values to the work.
  • Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience is highly desired, but for the right candidate, teaching mentoring may be made available in lieu of substantial prior teaching experience.
  • Great skills in specialist areas and relevant tool use.

  • Highly organized and able to steward workspaces with care, to leave a readytogo, predictable space for others.
  • Experience setting norms for safety.
  • Flexible and adaptable for changes and surprises; able to cope with a vibrant and busy environment.
  • A genuine commitment to each students’ growth, happiness and authentic engagement.
