Job Description

Job DescriptionAssembly and Quality Inspection Technician – Electrochem Solutions

2nd shifts available

Step into a highly regulated manufacturing environment where precision and consistency power everything we do. As part of Electrochem Solutions, an Ultralife Company, you’ll assemble and inspect components using written procedures to meet exacting production and quality targets.

A day in your role

You arrive on your shift, review the Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI’s) and Quality Work Instructions (QWI’s), and set up the equipment you need. You move between manual and automated stations, building components to print and confirming every step is captured in Device History Records in alignment with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Throughout the shift, you visually and dimensionally verify that parts and finished assemblies meet specifications, escalating non-conformances immediately. You collaborate with your team on process improvements, support packaging for shipment as needed, and keep your workspace spotless and safe by following all procedures, rules, and regulations. Along the way, you add new skills through on-the-job, cross, and classroom training—and you participate in our flex break program as required.

What you will do

  • Set up assembly/inspection equipment per MPI’s and QWI’s.
  • Understand your tasks and how they fit the team’s workflow; follow Standard Work under close supervision.
  • Assemble component parts to print using both manual and automatic machines.
  • Inspect parts/assemblies visually and dimensionally; identify and escalate quality non-conformances.
  • Complete Device History Records and all manufacturing documentation in accordance with GDP.
  • Package assemblies for shipment as needed.
  • Contribute to team efforts on process/product improvement, problem solving, and customer satisfaction.
  • Grow your capabilities via on-the-job training, cross-training, and classroom instruction.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area by following all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Participate in required flex break programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read English and follow detailed written instructions.
  • Blueprint reading a plus.
  • Familiarity with microscopes and measuring devices preferred.
  • Previous light assembly experience preferred.

Physical demands and work environment

  • Extended periods of sitting or standing/walking depending on the operation.
  • Frequent hand coordination and occasional-to-frequent reaching.
  • Some operations require frequent use of a foot pedal.
  • Lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Work within the Cathode department with potential dust/air quality considerations and/or elevated temperatures.
  • Work within a Dry Room with exposure to changes in temperature and humidity.

Growth and teamwork

You’ll participate in team initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and customer satisfaction while steadily expanding your skillset.
