Lifeguard / Youth Aquatic Activities Coordinator

Company Description Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke, Inc. is a youth-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe, supportive, and enriching environments for children and teens.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • \n

  • Current Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross or equivalent.
  • \n

  • Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
  • \n

  • Current First Aid Certification.
  • \n

  • Strong swimming and aquatic safety skills.
  • \n

  • Ability to recognize hazards and respond calmly and effectively during emergencies.
  • \n

  • Previous experience working with children or teens in an aquatic, recreational, educational, or youth-development environment is preferred.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of child development and group management in a pool environment is preferred.
  • \n

  • Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • \n

  • Ability to remain focused and attentive in an active aquatic environment.
  • \n

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for developing fun, age-appropriate aquatic activities.
  • \n

  • Commitment to the safety standards, mission, and culture of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke.
  • \n

  • Ability to meet required background-check and organizational compliance requirements.
  • \n

  • Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods.
  • \n

  • Ability to perform water rescues and provide emergency assistance when necessary.
  • \n

  • Ability to lift or move a child when required during an emergency.

  • Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, and other emergency-response procedures.
  • \n

  • Must be comfortable working in and around water on a regular basis.
  • \n
