Job Overview
Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Technician to support our client’s medical facility in Concord, MA. This is a CONTRACT opportunity of 3 months and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Specimen Technician to join our laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, labeling, and processing patient specimens accurately and efficiently. You will ensure all specimens are handled according to established protocols to maintain sample integrity and support timely lab testing. Working closely with phlebotomists and laboratory staff, you'll play a key role in supporting diagnostic operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of accuracy in specimen management. Experience in a clinical or laboratory setting is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the healthcare and diagnostics field.
Key Responsibilities and skills:
- Receive and verify incoming specimens for accuracy and completeness
- Label and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Maintain proper documentation and log all specimens into the system
- Follow all safety and handling procedures to preserve sample integrity
- Collaborate with phlebotomy and lab staff to ensure timely processing
- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues with samples
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the specimen processing area
Qualifications:
- Minimum education- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience required
- Detail-oriented with good experience.
- Computer skills.
- Data entry and processing.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and stress management skills.
Additional Information:
- Location: Concord, Massachusetts and other locations
- Job Type: 11 months contract
- Shifts: 8 HOURS DAY SHIFT (FULL TIME)
- Hourly Pay: $17-$22/ hr
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
