We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to join our leadership team and guide our clinical staff in providing exceptional patient-centered care.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate leader with a strong clinical background and a commitment to delivering high-quality resident care while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of nursing care and daily operations of the Nursing Services Department.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DPH and CMS guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Lead and support nursing staff through training, performance evaluations, and mentorship.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote quality care and positive resident outcomes.
- Drive quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison for residents, families, and staff to address care needs and concerns.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys and implement corrective action plans as needed.
Requirements:
- Current and valid RN license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (in good standing).
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience in long-term care/skilled nursing, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role. Prior DON experience preferred.
- Proven leadership experience as a DON in facilities with sub-acute, transitional care, and hospice/palliative services.
- Strong knowledge of DPH regulations, survey processes, and quality standards.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to resident-centered care and quality improvement.
- Track record of achieving high-performance benchmarks (e.g., CMS Five-Star Rating, DPH Report Card, ACHA Quality Awards).
- Experience in JCACHO or CARF-accredited facilities required.
- Ability to foster teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Experience in a faith-based, mission-driven, non-profit SNF preferred but not required.
