Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Apprentice Carpenter / Construction Apprentice to work directly under our Lead Foreman. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance their skills and career within a disciplined, fast-paced construction environment.
Based out of our Boston Seaport location, this role involves regular travel to projects across Massachusetts and Rhode Island—including Cape Cod, the Islands, Central MA, and occasionally New York City for specific assignments.
This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturday work depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Foreman with day-to-day tasks on job sites.
- Perform basic carpentry and general labor tasks such as demo, framing assistance, drywall support, flooring prep, and job site cleanup.
- Help prepare, load, transport, and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
- Support job site setup, layout, and workflow preparation.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Learn to read and understand construction drawings, scopes of work, and work orders.
- Work within company structure and follow direction from senior team members, APMs, PMs, and construction supervisors.
- Uphold company standards of professionalism, conduct, communication, and workmanship.
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in residential remodeling, carpentry, or construction preferred (but motivated beginners with mechanical aptitude will be considered).
- Willingness to learn and take direction, with a strong desire to advance in the construction field.
- Positive attitude, reliable work ethic, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials and tools regularly.
- Basic understanding of tools, construction terminology, and job site operations.
- Reliable transportation required.
- A professional, unmarked van or pickup truck with basic/essential tools required.
- Ability to travel throughout MA, RI, and occasionally NYC.
