Job Description

Job Description

MHA’s New Way residences are a pioneering approach to comprehensive 24/7 care, offering a less expensive and more meaningful community alternative to institutional care in a nursing home. Each New Way residence is home to four adults who may have cognitive, mental health and physical challenges as a result of their injury or illness. New Way professional residential support specialists are trained and certified in medication administration, first aid, CPR and other relevant skills. Additional services, including nursing, clinical, physical and occupational therapy are provided in order to further support the health and wellness of every resident. Health care coordination is an important part of our work!

We are currently seeking direct care workers in a relief capacity for our New Way Services (NWS) residential programs to work on a per diem, as needed basis. Relief staff are required to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month, excluding team meetings and trainings, to maintain employment and will be on-call to be utilized throughout the programs as needed to fill shifts.

Requirements

  • Must be available to pick up shifts as necessary, working a minimum of 2 required shifts per month.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have a safe, reliable vehicle to utilize during work hours
  • Must have auto insurance with your name listed on the policy as an insured driver
  • Must have an acceptable driving record (no more than 3 violations within the past 3 years)
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to pass and maintain certifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and First Aid.
  • Must be able to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with a team.
  • Must be comfortable with a person-centered approach, with adaptability to support participants' changing needs.
