Perform basic engineering calculations such as heating and cooling loads, ventilation calculations, and preliminary equipment sizing

Assist with the selection and evaluation of mechanical equipment using manufacturer data and guidance from senior team members

Review drawings, existing conditions, and project requirements to support accurate and coordinated design solutions

Participate in field visits to document existing conditions and observe project progress

Coordinate with internal project team members across disciplines, including electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology

Help ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, energy codes, and project standards

Maintain organized project documentation and support timely project delivery

Apply technical direction, develop engineering judgment, and continue building knowledge through mentorship and project experience

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field; or Associate’s degree in a related technical field with relevant internship, co-op, or MEP experience

Internship, co-op, or up to one year of experience in an engineering, construction, or related technical environment

Fundamental understanding of HVAC and mechanical engineering concepts

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documents

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

Ability to travel locally for project site visits as needed

Preferred Qualifications
Internship, co-op, or prior experience in an MEP consulting firm

Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD

Exposure to HVAC load calculation software or other mechanical design tools

Working knowledge of applicable building and energy codes

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward obtaining it

Strong MS Office skills, including Excel and Microsoft Teams

The expected compensation for this hourly, full time role, including benefits, ranges from $65,270 to $80,000 annually and will be determined based on experience and education.
