SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The 40-hour Staff Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing all 2nd shift staff, that includes Resident Care Associates (RCAs), cooks, dietary aides and front desk staff. Make sure all staff are present and accounted for, address employee concerns in the moment and safety concerns of the residents. Be present at dinner seatings for both Traditional Assisted Living and Memory Care to ensure safety and compliance with policies. Write up incident reports as needed and communicate medical emergencies with on-call staff. Facilitate In-Services trainings on varying topics as requested by the Executive Director or Health & Wellness Director. Contact family members as needed, in the event a Resident has a medical issue or emergency that requires immediate notification. This position reports to the Health & Wellness Director.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Meet weekly with Department Directors to go over any changes in staffing, policies in the departments and any situation that requires specific attention.
  • Documents any problems or concerns with regard to dietary, health & wellness or front desk departments/staff.
  • Walk the building and document any physical issues (maintenance/housekeeping) that need attention.
  • Monitor move-ins that may occur during 2nd shift and make sure all staff is aware that new Resident in in the building
  • Acts as a liaison to families, as needed.
  • Maintains inventory of medical supplies, monitors expiration dates, and orders supplies as needed.
  • Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Advance notice is not always possible, but will be given when it is.
  • Complete incident reports and follow-ups as needed (incident reports within 24 hours of incident)
  • Maintains all records, as directed by the Health & Wellness Director in compliance with the regulations of the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA)
  • Other program/agency related duties as assigned by supervisor.


Requirements:

EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Massachusetts RN, LPN, CNA license or Home Health Aide Certificate required.
  • At least 2 years experience with geriatric/dementia population.
  • At least 2 years management experience, over-seeing 10 or more employees
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be flexible
  • Experience in Assisted Living Facility preferred
  • Staff Development experience a plus

EDUCATION BACKGROUND:

  • Associates Degree or higher preferred.
