Landscaping By J. Michael is looking for a motivated and experienced Landscape / Horticulturalist to join our team. The ideal candidate is results-driven, passionate about the green industry, and excited to contribute to the continued growth of our installation and horticultural operations.

What This Role Looks Like

In this role, you’ll help lead the day-to-day operations of our Installation / Horticultural Department while ensuring high-quality landscape work across residential and commercial properties.

You’ll be responsible for planning, organizing, and supporting field operations while also working closely with clients and crew members to ensure projects are completed to a high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan and schedule daily operations for the Installation / Horticultural Department
  • Apply best practices in installation, pruning, fertilization, and disease/pest control
  • Maintain and enhance residential and commercial landscape properties
  • Supervise and work alongside a crew of up to 2 team members
  • Handle documentation including paperwork, photos, client recommendations, and scheduling site visits
  • Prepare change order estimates for clients as needed
  • Support consistent communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and project clarity
  • Assist with additional landscape installation tasks when required
  • Participate in snow operations to support year-round work opportunities

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with strong horticultural knowledge, field experience, and leadership ability who can confidently manage small crews and client expectations.

  • 5+ years of experience in landscape installation, maintenance, horticulture, or a related field
  • Strong skills in pruning and general garden bed maintenance
  • Solid knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs
  • Experience with both organic and chemical treatments for disease and insect control
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • DOT Health Card required or ability to obtain
  • Pesticide and/or MCLP license is a plus
