Step into a highly impactful role supporting students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic educational environment near Windsor, VT. Multiple Special Education Teachers are needed on-site for a contract position throughout the academic year, from August 19, 2026, through June 14, 2027. This opportunity offers a full-time 35-hour work week, collaborating with dedicated teams and engaging directly with students of varying ages and abilities.
Openings include:
- Two positions at the high school level for a new, innovative pilot program serving students with executive functioning needs, Autism, and significant behavioral challenges. Creative problem-solving and adaptability are highly valued, as the role focuses on preparing students for employment and independent living.
- One elementary position within a team of four teachers, supporting students with learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math, as well as high-functioning Autism. Occupational and physical therapists are actively involved to ensure comprehensive student support.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Vermont Teaching License with at least one of the following: Special Educator Endorsement, Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement, or Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement.
- Prior experience working with students with Autism, learning disabilities, or behavioral challenges is preferred.
- A willingness to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including PT/OT staff.
- Current fingerprinting is required; recent checks from previous school assignments are accepted.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s needs.
- Develop and implement IEPs in coordination with support staff.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and growth-oriented classroom environment.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development, building life and job-readiness skills.
