Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) is seeking a dedicated Varsity Assistant Coach for Boys Basketball to support the head coach in leading a Christ-centered athletic program that emphasizes excellence, character, and spiritual growth. The assistant coach will contribute to practices, games, and mentorship of student-athletes in alignment with LCA’s mission.
Responsibilities:
Team Support & Instruction

Assist in planning and executing daily practices with clear objectives for individual and team development.

Support the implementation of game strategy and in-game adjustments.

Help foster a team culture rooted in respect, responsibility, and Christian sportsmanship.
Student-Athlete Development

Encourage student-athletes in their athletic, personal, academic, and spiritual growth.

Provide position-specific coaching and constructive feedback during practices and games.

Build positive relationships with players, reinforcing team values and expectations.
Operational & Administrative Support

Assist with game-day logistics, equipment setup, and sideline management.

Help manage rosters, attendance, and communication when needed.

Support the head coach in coordinating with parents, officials, and the athletic department.
Faith Integration

Model and encourage Christ-centered living and servant leadership.

Open and close practices and games with prayer when appropriate.

Encourage athletes to see competition as an opportunity to glorify God.
Qualifications:

Previous coaching or playing experience preferred.

Strong understanding of the game and a desire to grow as a coach.

Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and Athletic Director.

Committed to the mission and values of Lexington Christian Academy as a Christ-centered school.

Must pass all required background checks and complete school safety trainings.
Seasonal Commitment:

Winter season; approximately [12–15] weeks.

Afternoon practices and games 5–6 days per week, including some Saturdays.

Additional meetings or events as requested by the head coach or Athletic Director.
