Job Description

Job DescriptionVDC/BIM Model Coordination Specialist – Automated Warehousing (Wilmington, MA)

Step into a day where your Revit mastery shapes the backbone of high‑performance, AI‑enabled distribution centers. In the morning, you fine‑tune parametric families and views for complex steel superstructures; by afternoon, you’re validating coordinated models with cross‑functional engineering teams, ensuring every sheet, schedule, and filter communicates clear design intent. You’ll live at the intersection of digital construction and advanced robotics—turning concepts into build‑ready information for Symbotic’s large‑scale automation deployments.

Role Snapshot

  • Create, manage, and evolve BIM models in Revit, including complex families, views, browser structures, sheets, schedules, and filters.
  • Produce and maintain complete drawing sets—plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules—that precisely convey design intent.
  • Guard model and document fidelity so they reflect the project design and meet internal as well as customer standards.
  • Run quality checks to confirm accuracy, completeness, and consistency across models and drawings.
  • Coordinate closely with Symbotic’s engineering disciplines to align models, drawings, and schedules.
  • Thrive in a fast pace, shifting priorities confidently with a solutions‑oriented mindset.

Where This Role Sits

You’ll join the Structure and System Layout team within the Layout Engineering & Continuous Improvement organization. This group is part of Symbotic’s Manufacturing & Supply Chain organization—responsible for developing warehouse layouts for our customers, enabling supply chain execution, and supporting installation teams. The team continually drives layout excellence, integrating feedback and reducing both material costs and project lead times.

What You Bring

  • 2–4 years of experience in the building or construction industry.
  • At least 2 years hands‑on Revit experience in 2D and 3D environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Structural Engineering preferred.
  • BIM/Revit certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of structural steel components preferred.
  • Tools: Autodesk Construction Cloud, Inventor, AutoCAD, and Navisworks; Bluebeam and Revizto are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams and adapt as priorities change.
  • Comfort operating under time pressure while maintaining accuracy and a positive attitude.

Travel & Work Practices

  • Up to 10% travel; must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations.
  • Employees are responsible for using a personal credit card and managing expenses, which are reimbursed on a bi‑weekly basis.
