Products leave a lasting mark—and so do the inspectors who certify them. In this Newington, NH, on-site A-level role, you’ll be the voice of conformance, reporting to the Quality Supervisor and partnering with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing. Your mission: ensure work follows our process documents and applicable codes, and verify that the Quality Program is truly in action—on the line and in the records.
Imagine your first 90 days
- Days 1–30: Master our procedures, inspection points, and documentation flow. Begin incoming inspections of raw materials, components, and castings.
- Days 31–60: Lead in-process inspections per engineering specifications and perform acceptance decisions against technical criteria. Start representing quality in internal reviews.
- Days 61–90: Own final inspections, support audits with customers and regulators, and refine calibration and records management practices across your area.
Your scope
- Conduct in-coming inspections and validate specifications using visual and mechanical techniques.
- Complete in-process inspection checkpoints throughout production to engineering requirements.
- Formally accept or reject parts; document rationale and manage nonconformances, including scrapping to procedure and engineering instruction.
- Generate thorough inspection reports and maintain logs for full traceability.
- Uphold a safe workplace by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Maintain and verify calibrated measuring equipment; coordinate repairs when needed.
- Execute NDT methods: ultrasonic, dye penetrant, radiographic, visual, and magnetic particle.
- Perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts.
- Confirm Quality Program implementation and act as the quality representative during internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
Your background
- High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of college/technical school, or equivalent preparation.
- 2+ years of experience in inspection.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding details/symbols, and technical documentation.
- UT or RT emphasis.
- NDE certification preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Farrow measuring equipment.
- Capability to obtain certifications as required.
- Must maintain nine qualification levels, including Mechanical Inspection, Weld Surveillance, Liquid Penetrant II, and Magnetic Particle II, per qualification criteria. If Weld Surveillance, Liquid Penetrant II, and Magnetic Particle II cannot be attained and maintained, a Company-selected substitute qualification may be achieved.
- Skilled in reading shop drawings and sketches.
