Bring your passion for supporting students to a rewarding Paraprofessional role serving K–12 learners with more significant needs, including severe autism and behavioral challenges. This full-time contract position spans May through June 2026, with the exciting opportunity for continued summer hours as part of a year-round school program. You’ll partner closely with educators to empower students to thrive and make meaningful progress each day.
Work across multiple vibrant communities, including Burlington, Arlington, Belmont, Lexington, Belford, and Watertown. A centrally located candidate able to travel to different sites as needed will be the best fit for this flexible, collaborative environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Prior experience as a Paraprofessional or working with students with autism and behavioral needs strongly preferred
- Experience supporting non-verbal or minimally verbal students is valuable
- Ability to build rapport, remain calm under pressure, and follow behavior intervention plans
- CORI fingerprinting clearance or letter of suitability required
- Availability for a 32.5 hour workweek (7 hour days, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Willingness to commute and assist at multiple school sites as needed
Role Responsibilities:
- Support students in academic, behavioral, and daily living activities
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and specialists to meet IEP goals
- Reinforce positive behaviors and help implement intervention strategies
- Assist students with communication, sensory, and mobility needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to a supportive classroom environment
