Senior Quality Engineer (Plastics)
Position Overview
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality assurance processes within the plastics manufacturing department. This role aims to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality assurance strategies for plastic products.
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality issues in production.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
- Utilize statistical quality control and statistical process control methods to monitor production processes.
- Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and ensure proper documentation such as PPAP and control plans are maintained.
- Facilitate training sessions for team members on quality standards and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Fishbone analysis and FMEA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering within the plastics industry (preferred).
- Experience with reliability and safety standards in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including statistical process control and corrective action processes.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, PPAP, and control plans.
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
