Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are looking for a skilled part-time pelvic health physical therapist to join our team at the Waltham location. This role is essential in enhancing our physical therapy department's ability to deliver exceptional rehabilitation services. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide top-notch outpatient rehabilitation for pediatric patients. Your focus will be on treating individuals of all genders facing pelvic health challenges, including pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and incontinence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough physical therapy assessments in accordance with departmental standards for pediatric patients.
- Performing evaluations and treatments for patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Creating individualized care plans to meet specific goals based on age, medical history, and dysfunction.
- Working closely with a team of healthcare providers to ensure integrated care and effective follow-up.
- Exhibiting professional expertise and clinical judgment in evaluating patients' conditions throughout all stages of physical therapy.
- Carrying out diagnostic assessments as referred by physicians, confirming the appropriateness of referrals, and communicating with physicians as needed.
- Designing and implementing tailored treatment programs for patients, setting treatment objectives, and administering suitable physical therapy techniques.
- Preparing discharge plans and home treatment protocols while educating patients and their families. Monitoring treatment results, adjusting programs as necessary, and relaying recommendations to physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Documenting assessments, diagnoses, and treatments in patient medical records per established documentation standards. Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals, and other necessary materials for schools, providers, payors, and others. Assigning appropriate billing codes and charges for reimbursement.
- Fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications Education
- Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy; a Doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) is preferred.
Experience
- Experience in adult or pediatric pelvic floor therapy is ideal. Additional training and mentorship will be available. Pediatric pelvic floor experience is highly preferred.
- APTA CAPP-Pelvic certification or equivalent advanced training/certification in pelvic floor physical therapy is desired but not mandatory for hiring. Please note that our organization will cover the cost of the CAPP-Pelvic certification or equivalent if hired.
- Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
Licensure/Certifications
- Must hold a Physical Therapist license in the state of Massachusetts.
