Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold appropriate certification for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans
  • Proficient in using educational data platforms (NHSEIS preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with families, audiologists, SLPs, and other professionals
  • Deep understanding of hearing loss, assistive technology, and appropriate classroom accommodations
  • Familiarity with managing and troubleshooting student amplification devices

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student’s needs and goals
  • Contribute expertise to the IEP development process, including proposing goals and progress metrics
  • Collaborate with educational teams to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and 504 plans
  • Analyze evaluation and progress reports to inform classroom instruction
  • Maintain accurate instructional records and progress monitoring data
  • Provide consultation, training, and support to staff regarding hearing loss and accommodations
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of student amplification devices, and manage equipment needs
  • Guide students in developing self-advocacy skills and independence with their devices
  • Ensure compliance with state and district special education policies and procedural safeguards
  • Participate fully in professional development and building activities as required
