Job DescriptionJob Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Float Pool)Location: Hyannis, MADuration: 14 WeeksJob Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical/Surgical Telemetry Float Pool in an acute care setting. The RN will deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient documentation
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social aspects
- Develop and implement individualized care plans and communicate with care teams
- Function as a charge nurse when required
- Utilize computerized nursing systems and informatics tools effectively
- Act as a resource for patient care, staff orientation, and education
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
- Support patient education, discharge planning, and continuity of care
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Massachusetts
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Must pass required Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia exams prior to start
- Recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting (within last 2 years)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience managing cardiac/telemetry patients
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
