Exciting opportunities are open for passionate Special Education Teachers dedicated to supporting elementary students with diverse learning needs. This contract position runs from October 19, 2026, through June 14, 2027, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference within a collaborative and well-resourced environment. You’ll work in partnership with a team of four experienced teachers and alongside PT/OT support staff to provide tailored instruction to students with learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math, as well as those on the high functioning Autism spectrum. The role provides a strong sense of community and ongoing professional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Current professional Vermont Teaching License with one or more of the following endorsements: Special Educator, Special Education Consulting Teacher, Intensive Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with elementary-age children with varying educational needs
- Strong understanding of learning disabilities and evidence-based intervention strategies
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for team-based planning
- Recent fingerprinting clearance (can be transferred from prior Vermont school assignments)
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver differentiated instructional plans for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom staff, PT/OT professionals, and families to support student progress
- Maintain thorough documentation and reports for compliance and data tracking
- Engage in ongoing assessment and adapt strategies to meet evolving student needs
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
