Job Summary: A leading wholesale distributor of lumber and building materials is seeking a dependable Sawyer to join its production team. This role is responsible for operating saw equipment to cut lumber products to customer specifications while maintaining quality, accuracy, and safety standards. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, pays close attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate saw equipment to cut lumber and wood products according to specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders, measurements, and cut lists.
- Inspect materials for quality and accuracy before and after cutting.
- Measure and verify dimensions using appropriate tools.
- Maintain production schedules and meet daily output goals.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating machinery and handling materials.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with material movement, staging, and other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, woodworking, saw operation, or warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate equipment.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and production environment with varying temperatures.
