High Expectations is seeking a dedicated, part-time ESL instructor to join our mission-driven team. Evening sessions run from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM, making this role ideal for educators who appreciate flexible hours and are passionate about empowering adult learners to achieve language proficiency and personal success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, level-appropriate ESL instruction to adult learners
- Implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals and diverse learner needs
- Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Integrate technology and digital tools into instruction
- Evaluate student performance, complete grading, and provide timely feedback
- Complete lesson maps, progress reports, and administrative tasks promptly
- Collaborate with staff and participate in professional development and faculty meetings
- Contribute to program development and learner success initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in TESOL, Education, Linguistics, or related field
- Minimum of two years’ ESL teaching experience, preferably with adults
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Proficiency in educational technology and general computer literacy
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Commitment to equity, cultural sensitivity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualities
- Experience with student-centered ESL instruction
- Ability to adapt lessons for various learning styles and proficiency levels
- Familiarity with adult learning methodologies
- Punctuality, reliability, and ability to meet deadlines
