Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 1B Continuing Care Nursery position requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience and a Massachusetts RN license in hand.

Details

  • Level 1B NICU/Continuing Care Nursery setting, specializing in care for late preterm infants (35 weeks and beyond) and newborns with health complications
  • 4-bed unit with a 3:1 patient ratio
  • Patient population includes late preterm infants, infants exposed to opioids in utero (ESC), infants with transient tachypnea (TTN), blood sugar instability, and those requiring respiratory support
  • Specialized equipment includes cardiopulmonary monitors, LED phototherapy lights, radiant warming units, resuscitation and stabilization care centers, IV infusion pumps, isolettes, and high-flow nasal cannula oxygen delivery systems
  • Meditech Expanse is the EMR used at this facility (experience highly preferred)

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration — license will not be pending
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Minimum 2 years of current NICU experience required; Level 1B or higher NICU experience specifically required
  • Experience with ESC (Eat, Sleep, Console) protocol for opioid-exposed infants required
  • Experience with TTN (Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn) patients required
  • Experience with blood sugar stabilization in neonates required
  • Experience providing respiratory support and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy required
  • Personal vehicle required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • NICU Skills Checklist current within the past year required for consideration
  • One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment required for consideration
  • RTO must be requested prior to or at the time of submission — scheduling requests will not be approved after an offer is extended, and late requests may result in a rescinded offer
  • No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted for the duration of the assignment
  • Block scheduling requests will not be considered
  • Meditech Expanse experience is highly preferred and should be noted on your profile
