Contract Details
- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 3 months
- Extension Possible: Yes
- Conversion to FTE: Yes (goal is eventual conversion)
- Start: As Soon As Possible
- Pay Rate: $52.00–$55.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Voluntary overtime and on-call opportunities may be available)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to support commercial retail facilities as part of an expanding territory. This role supports the acquisition of new locations and involves independent field service work focused on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers and freezers. The technician will launch from home daily, service assigned calls, and plan routes independently. Our Client provided work vehicle and mobile tools will be supplied.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, adjust, and maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers and freezers
- Perform preventive maintenance and proactive performance testing on commercial equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Service a defined territory and manage daily routes based on assigned calls
- Use mobile platforms and tablets to document work and communicate updates
- Work independently while following defined procedures and safety protocols
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
Required Skills
- Universal EPA certification
- Valid Driver's License (MVR required)
- Strong refrigeration experience, specifically walk-in coolers and freezers
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in the field
Preferred Skills
- 3 years of refrigeration experience
- Electrical and/or plumbing skills
- Trade school or technical training
Additional Skills
- Comfortable using tablets (iPad), mobile platforms, and email
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs or more and perform physical job requirements
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Company vehicle provided
- Candidate will launch from home daily
- Tablet and mobile tools provided
- Background package required: Safety Specific, including drug screen and MVR
