MASS SCRFAP brand-new, community-focused scrap metal yard in Leominster, MA. We’re building a team of reliable, hardworking individuals who take pride in doing the job right and helping customers have a smooth, positive experience.

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, hard-working, physically capable individual to join our team. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role with direct customer contact.

You will help customers unload scrap metal, learn to identify and grade materials, and assist with general yard operations. No prior experience with metals is required—we will train you.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Includes approximately 11 hours of overtime per week

Pay & Benefits

• $16–$19 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with unloading scrap metal (cars, trucks, pickups, etc.)
• Weigh and help grade incoming materials (training provided)
• Sort and process materials, including cutting when needed
• Maintain a clean and organized yard (sweeping, general upkeep)
• Work as part of a team while also taking initiative during downtime

Requirements

• Must be reliable and consistently show up on time — this is a critical part of the job
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Comfortable performing very physical work
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Able to communicate with customers in English
• Reliable transportation required

Preferred (Not Required)

• Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
• Forklift experience
• Experience in construction, landscaping, or other physical labor jobs

Work Environment

This is an active, primarily indoor job in a scrap yard setting, with some outdoor work depending on daily operations and customer flow. Employees should expect a fast-paced environment and physically demanding work throughout the day.

Safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection will be provided. Employees must wear steel-toe boots.
