Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our team in Woburn, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract position, offering the opportunity to work closely with the Director of Legal and Compliance to support critical risk management and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in internal controls, auditing, and regulatory compliance, along with a keen ability to analyze and mitigate risks using industry-standard frameworks.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Director of Legal and Compliance to manage risk assessment and mitigation activities.
• Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational frameworks.
• Conduct audits and prepare detailed reports outlining risk factors and key performance indicators.
• Utilize methodologies such as COSO and ISO 31000 to perform comprehensive risk analyses.
• Assist in mapping risk factors and defining key risk indicators to support proactive decision-making.
• Leverage case management software to organize and manage litigation and compliance-related tasks.
• Support discovery processes, trial preparation, and other civil litigation activities.
• Provide expertise in compliance assessments and ensure adherence to industry standards.
• Participate in the development of compliance strategies to address regulatory challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.• Minimum of 3 years of experience in internal controls, auditing, or compliance-related roles.
• Familiarity with risk analysis methodologies such as Bowtie and frameworks like COSO and ISO 31000.
• Proven ability to assess compliance risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation, discovery, and trial preparation processes.
• Proficiency in using case management software to manage legal and compliance workflows.
• Experience working in regulatory compliance or with Big 4 firms is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex legal and compliance matters.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
