Position Title: Travel Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (General Surgical Services)
Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital – Surgical Services Department
Assignment Type: Travel / Contract (13 Weeks)

Shift Type: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift Time: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week guaranteed (42.5 hours scheduled)

Job Summary:

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to support a high-performing Surgical Services team in an acute care hospital setting. The Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons and perioperative staff during a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique, patient safety, and compliance with operating room standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, drapes, and solutions
Maintain strict sterile technique in compliance with AORN standards
Assist surgeons and operating room staff during surgical procedures
Pass instruments and sterile supplies as required during operations
Assist with retracting, suturing, and maintaining sponge and needle counts
Prepare, label, and handle surgical specimens for laboratory processing
Assist with patient positioning, transfer, and surgical preparation
Ensure proper assembly and functionality of surgical equipment
Support sterilization processes and operate sterilization equipment as needed
Assist with room turnover and restocking between cases
Handle medications during surgical procedures under supervision
Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and safety at all times
Follow surgeon preference cards and departmental protocols
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient care

Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (civilian or military)
Active NBSTSA certification required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control practices
Ability to perform in a fast-paced operating room environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow surgical protocols
Orthopedic experience preferred
Ability to support multiple surgical specialties
