CREATION STATION COORDINATOR

Seasonal Position: Summer 2026
ABOUT US
The Adirondack Club Summer Camp continues to evolve each year, introducing new programming that challenges, inspires, and engages campers in meaningful ways. For Summer 2026, we are launching the Creation Station, a structured, rotating build‑and‑create experience inside our glass classroom space where campers ages 5–13 participate in weekly design challenges focused on building, problem‑solving, engineering thinking, and creative collaboration.
The Creation Station Coordinator will help shape this brand‑new program in partnership with camp leadership. This is an opportunity to bring your creativity, hands‑on building experience, and passion for working with kids into a program that will become a signature part of our summer.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Creation Station Coordinator is responsible for designing, organizing, and leading a structured weekly build‑and‑create curriculum for all camp groups. Each group (typically divided into two‑year age bands) will visit the Creation Station once per week for 1.5–2 hours.
This role blends structured building, creative engineering thinking, design constraints, and collaborative problem‑solving. It is not a traditional STEM instructor position and not an arts‑and‑crafts role—it sits in the exciting middle space where creativity meets construction.
You will work closely with the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director to develop a 9‑week challenge plan, prepare materials, and ensure the Creation Station runs smoothly throughout the summer.
You Will:
- Develop a 9‑week Creation Station curriculum with guidance and collaboration from camp leadership, including the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director.
- Create age‑appropriate versions of each weekly challenge for younger and older groups
- Submit materials requests after curriculum approval
- Maintain organization and inventory of Creation Station materials, tools, and project supplies.
- Lead sessions with energy, structure, and confidence
- Support campers through planning, building, testing, iteration, and reflection.
- Work alongside Lead Counselors and Assistant Staff to ensure smooth transitions and group management
Pre‑summer planning hours will be available and scheduled after meeting with camp leadership. These hours will be used to finalize weekly plans, build supply systems, and prepare the space.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Each block will include:
- Challenge introduction
- Planning and design phase
- Build and iteration time
- Testing and refinement
- Team reflection or presentation
WEEKLY THEMES MAY INCLUDE:
- Structural challenges
- Bridge and tower builds
- Mechanical construction
- Design under constraints
- Reverse engineering
- Large‑scale collaborative builds
- Unique challenge scenarios
The Creation Station Coordinator must be comfortable managing rotating groups of 20–28 campers, maintaining a focused, productive environment while supporting creativity, teamwork, and hands‑on building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop & Implement Weekly Innovation Challenges — Create one structured challenge per week with age‑adjusted variations.
- Curriculum & Material Planning — Collaborate with camp leadership to finalize curriculum and request materials in advance.
- Lead Sessions — Facilitate engaging, structured 1.5–2 hour sessions that balance creativity and discipline.
- Space Organization & Inventory Management — Maintain clean, organized systems for building materials, tools, and supplies.
- Collaboration with Camp Staff — Work alongside Lead Counselors and Assistant Staff to support group management and transitions.
- Documentation & Growth — Photograph builds and provide brief summaries to support camp marketing and program development.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome candidates with a range of backgrounds—including those who gained experience through school clubs, college coursework, personal projects, or previous hands‑on programs.
Strong candidates will have:
- Experience working with children in camp, school, or recreational settings
- A background or strong interest in creative building, design projects, engineering thinking, architecture, construction, robotics, or hands‑on maker activities
- Leadership presence and confidence managing groups in a fun, structured environment
- Ability to design age‑adjusted, challenge‑based activities for campers ages 5–13
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Comfort managing materials, tools, and a structured build‑and‑create space
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before camp begins through our camp training)
We are not looking for passive supervision. We are looking for someone who can command a room, guide structured challenges, and elevate the experience—while still being collaborative, creative, and kid‑focused.
JOB DETAILS
- Position Type: Seasonal, Full‑Time Hours (Monday–Friday during summer)
- Pre‑Summer Planning Hours: Available based on leadership approval
- Dates: June 16 through August 15
- Hours: 8:30 AM – approximately 4:10 PM
- Location: The Adirondack Club, Franklin, MA
- Compensation: Based on experience (Starting $18–$20)
