Guide students toward meaningful academic growth as a part-time Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity focuses on providing expert instruction to diverse learners Monday through Friday, totaling 25 hours per week, from September 2026 through June 2027.
Your specialized support will be vital in delivering 5 hours of targeted Wilson Reading Instruction to a middle school student while also offering an additional 20 hours of instructional services to high school, charter school, and Montessori students. You’ll have the chance to create tailored educational experiences that unlock student potential and help facilitate learning milestones in multiple school environments. Instruction will be the central focus of this role, letting you dedicate your time and skills to teaching students who will benefit from your expertise.
This role offers flexibility, welcoming both in-person and remote instruction depending on your availability and circumstances.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification
- Strong experience with Wilson Reading Instruction and related literacy intervention programs
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to support students with varying needs
- Experience teaching at the middle and/or high school level is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Wilson Reading System instruction directly to a middle school student
- Deliver engaging lessons for high school, charter, and Montessori students, focusing solely on instruction
- Maintain accurate records of instructional activities and student progress
- Collaborate as needed with other education professionals to optimize student learning
