An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in medical-surgical telemetry nursing. This role requires flexibility to float among eight different units within a hospital setting to provide diverse patient care. The position is contract-based and located in Lowell, MA, offering a dynamic work environment with varied responsibilities.
Responsibilities include continuous cardiac monitoring, administering cardiac drips, and interpreting telemetry strips every four hours. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of acute care hospital experience and proficiency in TR Band usage. The nurse will care for emergency department border patients, medication administration in acute mental health units, and non-vented patients ready for ICU transfer. The patient ratio ranges from 5:1 during day and evening shifts to 6:1 at night. The hospital uses the EPIC electronic medical record system for charting.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts RN License required
- Minimum two years of acute care experience preferred
- Skilled in telemetry monitoring and interpreting strips
- Able to perform cardiac drip administration
- Familiarity with TR Band is a plus
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory
- Willingness to float across multiple units
Schedule & Hours:
- Rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Mostly days and evenings with minimal night rotations
