Haigh-Farr is seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft-based systems and applications. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT professionals to troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance, and implement new technologies. A successful Microsoft Systems Engineer will have a strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server and more. Your role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess needs and provide solutions that align with the overall business objectives. Requirements:
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft-based systems, including servers and applications.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation of services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Microsoft systems and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and fulfill business needs with appropriate Microsoft solutions.
- Maintain and manage Exchange and Active Directory, ensuring proper user authentication and access control.
- Implement best practices for system administration, data management, and security compliance.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and deployments with minimal downtime.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes to facilitate knowledge transfer and ongoing support.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server and related technologies such as DHCP, DNS and NPS.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices to ensure system integrity and protection.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
- U.S. Person, with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
