Job Title: KDB+/Q Developer (Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking a KDB+ Developer to join the Regulatory Reporting Technology team at a global financial services leader. This is a high-impact role where you will help build mission-critical brokerage applications that support multi-asset class regulatory reporting.

You’ll collaborate closely with business and technology teams to design, build, and maintain data-driven systems operating under strict regulatory scrutiny. This role requires deep technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and strong experience with q/KDB+.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain KDB+ based systems that support real-time and batch regulatory reporting.
  • Design and implement solutions across multiple asset classes in collaboration with trading and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Write performant Q code to manage large-scale time-series data.
  • Contribute to architectural design, code reviews, and performance tuning.
  • Work in Agile teams, following DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Participate in system integration, testing, and deployment activities.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s a plus)
  • 6+ years of development experience with strong expertise in:
    • q/KDB+ programming
    • Python and scripting languages (Shell/Perl)
    • Linux/Unix environments
    • SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle)
  • Experience with DevOps pipelines and tools: Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, uDeploy, Artifactory
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred: S3, EC2, CloudFormation, Lambdas)
  • Bonus points for experience with:
    • Java, Spring Boot, Kafka
    • UI frameworks (Angular, React)
