Job Description

Job Title: CNC Machinist / CNC Operator – Level 2

Pay: $21–$28/hr

Location: Bennington, VT

Schedule: 4×10 (Monday–Thursday)

Job Summary

A growing manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / CNC Operator – Level 2 to support precision machining activities. The ideal candidate can independently set up machines, perform offsets, monitor production, and ensure parts meet required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills/lathes according to job requirements
• Load/unload materials and monitor machining operations
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as needed
• Inspect first-run and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Verify machine settings and adjust for accuracy and quality
• Perform operations such as drilling, threading, and hole-saw machining
• Document production output and maintain accurate job records
• Identify machining issues and troubleshoot basic errors
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and follow safety procedures

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints
• Familiarity with tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 10-hour shifts
• Knowledge of quality inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)

Work Environment & Schedule

• Full-time, onsite position
• 4-day work week (Monday–Thursday)
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring attention to detail
