Position Summary
The Custodian/Houseman is responsible for keeping the wedding venue clean, safe, and presentable before events begin. This includes daily cleaning, light maintenance, and preparing all areas of the property so they are ready for guests. This position begins as part-time with the potential to grow into a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain restrooms, common areas, and event spaces prior to use.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize all assigned areas.
- Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners and dispose of waste properly.
- Restock the restrooms and cleaning supplies as needed.
- Perform light maintenance such as changing bulbs, reporting repairs, and ensuring all spaces are in good working order.
- Maintain outdoor areas by picking up debris and keeping entryways tidy.
- Ensure the venue meets cleanliness and safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial, housekeeping, or facilities experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks, including bending, standing, and walking.
- Attention to detail and pride in keeping spaces neat and welcoming.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work required in varying weather conditions.
- Physical, hands-on role focused on cleanliness and property upkeep.
Schedule Requirements
- Thursday through Monday, 7:00 AM 12:00 PM.
- Weekends are required as part of the regular schedule.
