Our Home is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for our 2nd Shift in Fitchburg, MA. As the leader on the floor you will be the point person for direction of the day's schedule, managing employees shifts and breaks, ensuring machines are running, and being the contact for other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises all aspects of processing and packaging operations.
- Develops and implements daily staffing schedules to meet production needs efficiently.
- Maintains stringent quality control by verifying product specifications and standards.
- Monitors machine performance and addresses inefficiencies promptly.
- Ensures compliance with food safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Conducts training and development for staff, ensuring high performance levels.
- Facilitates communication across departments to support effective operations.
- Implements and supports safety initiatives, addressing unsafe conditions and practices.
- Participates in the hiring and onboarding of new employees.
- Acts as a point of contact for addressing quality issues and liaising with Quality Assurance.
- Coordinates maintenance work orders as necessary to ensure equipment functionality.
- Engages in audits and ensures facility readiness.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, Excel, and other relevant software.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team performance.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Work experience that demonstrates an understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and work in a warm, humid environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed.
