About the Role:
As a School Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic and functional success within the school environment. You will provide direct occupational therapy services, conduct comprehensive assessments, and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions regarding student eligibility and support needs. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse student population and collaborate with a dedicated team of educators and specialists.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct occupational therapy services to K-12th grade students, addressing fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, visual motor, self-care, and organizational skills.

Conduct thorough testing services and complete comprehensive reports to assess students' needs and inform intervention strategies.

Serve as an active member of a multidisciplinary team (e.g., IEP team, 504 team) to determine student eligibility for special education services, develop individualized education programs (IEPs), and offer guidance and support to students, families, and school staff.

Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, administrators, and other related service providers to integrate therapy goals into the educational setting.

Develop and implement individualized goals and objectives aligned with student IEPs.

Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust intervention plans as needed.

Recommend and assist with the implementation of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to enhance student participation and accessibility.

Provide consultation and training to school staff and parents regarding strategies to support student development and learning.

Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with school, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications:

Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Current and active New Hampshire Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility for NH licensure).

Experience working in a school setting and with school-aged children is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration, motor development, and adaptive equipment.

Familiarity with IEP processes, special education laws, and best practices in school-based occupational therapy.

Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.

Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize responsibilities.
