Job DescriptionJob Opportunity: Head and Neck Surgeon/Otolaryngologist

Our organization is currently looking for a full-time academic Head and Neck Surgeon/Otolaryngologist to join the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. The ideal candidate will possess specialized training in head and neck surgical oncology as well as facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, including expertise in microvascular free tissue transfer. Proficiency in DaVinci robotic transoral surgery of the pharynx is essential, and experience in facial trauma repair and post-Mohs reconstruction is a plus. The successful applicant will also engage in a comprehensive range of ENT practices, including rhinology, laryngology, and basic otology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients within the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery department.
  • Conduct intricate head and neck oncologic, reconstructive, and microvascular surgeries, including robotic transoral procedures.
  • Deliver clinical care in rhinology, laryngology, and otology, and participate in on-call duties.
  • Engage in educational activities, including teaching, supervision, research, and publication efforts.
  • Collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams focused on veteran-centered care.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with specific hours to be discussed with your supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
  • A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • A current, unrestricted medical or surgical license in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program, leading to eligibility for board certification, as approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
  • Board certification in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is required.
  • Experience in facial trauma repair and post-dermatologic surgery reconstruction is preferred.
  • Credentials suitable for appointments at Boston University School of Medicine or Harvard Medical School.
  • Fellowship training in head and neck surgical oncology and facial plastics/microvascular reconstruction is essential.
  • A strong academic background with a record of teaching, research, and publications.
  • Expertise in microvascular reconstruction and robotic transoral surgery is necessary.
