Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000+ (DOE)
Summary/Objective
The Senior Mechanical Designer/Draft Engineer will be responsible for designing custom electromechanical solutions, creating technical documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing and procurement. This role demands a deep understanding of motion dynamics, CAD modeling (SolidWorks), and GD&T standards.
Job Functions include:
- Design mechanical and electromechanical products per customer specs
- Create detailed technical and assembly drawings in SolidWorks
- Apply GD&T for manufacturability and consistent performance
- Collaborate with purchasing/manufacturing to source components
- Generate and manage Bills of Materials in ERP systems
- Design test and assembly fixtures as needed
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior designers
- Support continuous improvement of design processes and procedures
- Communicate effectively across teams and with vendors
- Use inspection tools to support quality standards
The Ideal Candidate MUST have:
- 8+ years of experience in industrial mechanical design/drafting
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, GD&T, and technical documentation
- Solid knowledge of power transmission and motion control components
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5, manufacturing methods, and inspection capabilities
- Working experience with ERP and Microsoft Office systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and standards
Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Design, or similar
- SolidWorks certification preferred
- GD&T certification preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 a plus
