The Town of Falmouth welcomes applications from professional candidates for a Temporary Part-Time Restaurant Inspector position to support our Health Department. This position works up to 19 hours per week on-site at the Falmouth Town Hall and in the field, with flexible hours Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with some required weekend hours. This position will be for a term of six (6) months, with the possibility of one extension of up to an additional six (6) months. This is a part-time, temporary position that is not eligible for benefits.

Under the direction of the Health Agent, this position performs sanitary inspections of food service establishments, following state public health regulations and local regulations. The Temporary Restaurant Inspector uses a Town-provided iPad to record the inspections utilizing online software.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have previous food service experience or public health experience and a current food protection manager certification, such as ServSafe. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between inspection sites throughout the town of Falmouth, with mileage reimbursed per IRS regulations.

Hourly Rate: $25.65/hour – $30.00/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
