Location: This is a remote position open to candidates based in Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Burlington, VT; or Tallahassee, FL.

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Salary range: $105-$120k

What You’ll Do

Reporting directly to the Aptarro CTO and serving as a member of the Aptarro Software Leadership Team, Aptarro is seeking an experienced Scrum Master (Team Coach) to support the Software Development and AI programs. The program team is comprised of several departments and cross-functional teams.

This position includes the following key components:  The Scrum Master (Team Coach) will be responsible for managing team iteration and AI projects proactively working within and outside the agile team on identifying dependencies and resolving problems and will coach team members on Agile methodologies. Ultimately, the Scrum Master will help create self-organizing teams that are flexible and fully productive during iterations.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead agile software projects from product conception to release.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand product/project objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Facilitate agile team events, such as stand-up, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
  • Supporting the team's planning of deliverables.
  • Resolving issues that hinder the teams' work.
  • Coordinating iterations, retrospective meetings, and daily syncs.
  • Coaching and training team members in Agile frameworks.
  • Listen and support teams in problem-identification and decision making.
  • Working with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests.
  • Resolving conflicts and removing obstacles that occur.
  • Ensuring deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
  • Guiding development teams to higher scrum maturity.
  • Helping build an environment where team members 'own' the product and enjoy working on it.
  • Coach team members and the organization on utilizing agile principles and frameworks and effectively leverage best practices.
  • Promote collaboration and transparency and communicate accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Help build a productive environment where team members are driven, accountable, and continuously improve.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of Scrum Master experience.
  • CSM and PMI-ACP highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of agile principles and frameworks and experience implementing agile practices especially Kanban.
  • Ability to work with teams to gather unrefined business requirements and formulate and deliver a solution in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with teams to break down large complex concepts into iterative deliverables.
  • Knowledge of basic software engineering, database, analytics & reporting, and cloud concepts.
  • Hands on knowledge of managing offshore teams both internally and externally.
  • Creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • Communicate in an open, honest and direct manner.
  • Encourage an environment that values mutual respect, openness, and courage.
  • Persuade by influence rather than authority.
  • Prior experience as a Scrum Master (must), Project or Program Manager
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Demonstrates the comprehension of a Lean-Agile mindset and practices with the ability to develop and train others in this area.
  • Ability to train team members on AGILE methodology.
  • Agile Certification (CSM, PSM, or PMI-ACP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
